Britnie Powell was recognized as a 2022 Utah Business 40 Under 40 Honoree.

“Expanding the SLCSE science model will reduce opportunity gaps for historically marginalized populations… Through this expansion, students will become informed citizens and decision-makers who build a strong academic identity through equitable access to a rigorous curriculum," she says.

Fulbright Awardee, Shea Wickelson

  Shea Wickelson was awarded a Fulbright in 2020/2021 to study environmental education in Colombia, South America for 6 months next spring. This prestigious award is given to only about 20 teachers nationwide and is for   conducting research and exchanging ideas abroad.

 

 


Schools of Opportunity Recognition

SLCSE was recently recognized by the national Schools of Opportunity  project, an annual honor that "recognizes high schools that work to close opportunity gaps by creating learning environments that reach every student."  SLCSE was one of seven high schools in the U.S. to be recognized in the 2018/2019 Schools of Opportunity​ project cycle.  Congratulations to the entire SLCSE community!

Utah Governor's Medal for Science & Technology
