Reports

  • Building for the Future: Construction Update
Construction at West High and Highland High continues to move forward on schedule, with new wall panels taking shape at West and crews at Highland making steady progress on foundations and utility work. Also, plans for the East High School field house will be developed over the next months with the school community.
  • A Look at the Numbers: Monthly Budget Update
The 2025-26 financial review showed savings in several areas across last year’s General Fund, Capital Projects Fund, and Debt Service Fund. These savings will be reviewed to provide information that could help guide possible adjustments to the current year’s budget.
  • Expanding Opportunities: Optional Specialized Programs
District leaders shared an annual update on our specialized learning programs, including Curriculum and Assessment, AP Capstone, and International Baccalaureate. The report provided an overview of each program’s goals, student successes, and how the programs support student learning.

Discussions/Actions

  • Building Strong Readers: Literacy Plan
A new state literacy law sets a goal of having 80% of third-grade students reading at grade level by 2030 and says that beginning in 2029–30, students who finish third grade below the reading benchmark must repeat the grade unless they qualify for an exception. The district is strengthening its early reading systems by identifying students’ needs as early as possible, providing targeted support for schools and teachers, and partnering with families and community organizations to build literacy skills.
  • Keeping Policies Current: Board Policy B-3
The Board reviewed and approved minor updates to Board Policy B-3: Tax Increment Financing and its administrative procedures.
