Parent Trainings Coming up
Spring 2022
We are hosting a free, virtual parent night for SLCSE families to discuss online safety in Utah. Join us for this free, one-hour interactive presentation with Digital Respons-Ability on March 7th at 5:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for you to learn research-based strategies for parenting with technology in the home.

QPR Training
Spots Available: 50
Available for: Students, parents and faculty for SLCSE
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer. This training will teach you the warning signs of suicide and how to respond in a crisis.
When: Wednesday, April 6th from 5-6:30 in the media center.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training (YMHFA)
When?: Saturday, May 14th from 9 am-3 pm. Some of the class will be online and will need to be done prior to the in-person training.
Spots Available: 30
Who? SLCSE Adults only (parents and staff)
You will learn:
Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges in this age group, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD).
• Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges.
• How to interact with a child or adolescent in crisis.
• How to connect the youth with help.
• Expanded content on trauma, substance use, self-care and the impact of social media and bullying
